Tales By David Jones is by far one of the most interesting fiction books I have read.
Narrated from the perspective of a conductor on a train that travels through planets and universes. What I found particularly intriguing about the author’s writing style is the way he leaves a lot up to interpretation.
Upon starting this book, I initially presumed it to be targeted mainly towards children. Nevertheless, as I delved deeper into the story and reflected upon my life experiences, I came to recognize that the worlds and themes explored in the book have more depth and complexity then I expected and some of the worlds the train stopped left me with some stuff to think about.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide any golden nuggets on this book because, much like the story, we all board this train and experience different thoughts, feelings, and emotions. However, I can share with you a list of my favorite worlds.
Favorite worlds:
The Theatre of Past Lives
The Doctor who cures
The Library of Past Mistakes
The Shopping Trip
The Train to the Moon
The Island In The Lake
The Hotel
